IU will be making a comeback this fall with a full-length album.
A spokesperson from IU’s agency, Loen Entertaiment, expressed, “We are currently in the midst of recording and aiming to release the album in October. Since this could be an extremely important album for IU, she is working really hard, so please look forward to it.”
After it was announced that Kara and SNSD would be making comebacks in the later half of this year, anticipation from fans has been heating up. Kara confirmed their September comeback, while SNSD’s comeback will be in either September or October. If IU’s album is completed soon, some friendly rivalry is likely to result as they will be carrying out promotional activities at roughly the same time.
The reason for everyone’s high anticipation towards IU’s new album is that this will be her 2nd regular album since ‘Growing Up’, which was released in April 2009. At that time, IU sang ‘Boo’ and appealed with her lively charm, but only received recognition as a rising star. However, IU became a big hit with the song ‘Good Day’ from her mini-album ‘Real’, which was released in December 2010, and even became known as a ‘hot trend’ in the music industry. With her 2nd regular album, IU will be able to show that she has matured musically. IU’s goal is to become a musician and in order to focus on the production of her new album, she drew back from her participation in all variety programmes, except for her role as an MC for ‘SBS Inkigayo’.
Many famous musicians were roped in to assist IU in the production of her new album. It was revealed earlier that Lee Juck is in the midst of composing songs for IU. He even posted about it on his twitter. A spokesperson from IU’s agency hinted, “Although we can’t reveal all their identities yet, besides Lee Juck, other famous musicians are also helping out with the production of IU’s album.”
